COSHH ASSESSMENTS

Control the substances that could harm your team — and stay on the right side of the law.

WHAT IS COSHH?

COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. The law requires every employer to prevent or adequately control their workers’ exposure to hazardous substances.

A COSHH assessment identifies what you use, who could be exposed and how, and the controls needed to keep everyone safe — we take the guesswork out of it for you.

THE LEGALITY

If a substance carries a hazard label, gives off dust or fumes, or is produced by your processes, the law says you need to assess and control it. No assessment means no defence if something goes wrong.

WHAT COUNTS AS HAZARDOUS?

CHEMICALS

CLEANING PRODUCTS

DUSTS

FUMES

VAPOURS

MISTS

GASES

BIOLOGICAL AGENTS

Please note: COSHH does not cover asbestos, lead or radioactive materials — these are covered by their own regulations.
